14 weeks already?

Claire just hit the 14 week mark and it has really been amazing how much she has changed even in the past week. She has not been sleeping as well at night for about a week and a half (waking up some in between feedings, not typical for her!), but they say that this usually indicates developmental milestones are about to occur. It seems like every day this week she has done something new—it’s so amazing to witness her becoming a little person and learning new skills! She noticed her feet for the first time…I saw her staring at them and lifting them up so she could get a closer look while waiting in line to see Santa! She started holding on to a little monkey blanket for comfort (really cute!) when she gets sleepy. She is now reaching out to touch her toys, and even reached out and grabbed a rattle Christmas Eve morning! During tummy time she “crawled” forward (just a little)—her legs are really strong from all that kicking she does! She is also “talking” now, although it is in baby language of course, but it is a more formed, distinct sound than her usual squeals. She does this when you talk to her or if she sees something interesting (the dogs, the Christmas tree, new people!).
We think she isn’t napping as well because she is so much more aware of the world and doesn’t want to miss out!
She seems to be a really happy baby (even with her recent lack of sleep) and was super cute and interactive at Nana and Paw-Paw’s house on Christmas Eve :)
